Hello everyone, long time no see 🙂
Today, I’ll give quick tutorial how to install PowerShell version 4. By default PowerShell version 2 is available in 2008 R2 & Windows 7, and there are many reasons to upgrade PowerShell to version 4.
The process is simple and shouldn’t take you a lot of time. But, at the first place, you have to check your current PowerShell version with command $PSVersionTable.
If is your PSVersion 2.0, you should start with upgrading. What are the prerequisites?
- Windows 2008 R2 with SP1
- Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.1 – Download link
- Windows Management Framework 4.0 – Download link
Once when you install .NET Framework 4.5.1 and WMF 4.0, you will have installed PowerShell version 4.
It’s so easy 😀 Bye!
