Have you ever had the need to install an identical SQL server what you currently have? Of course, you need information about the installed components, but you’ve wondered how to easily do so.

You can do that on two ways, and each of them are pretty simple.

Solution 1:

Open start menu / screen on server where is SQL installed, and search and start SQL Server Installation Center. Go to Tools on the left and click on Installed SQL Server features discovery report. You will get html report about installed SQL components.

Solution 2:

Open command prompt, navigate to installation media or folder where you have SQL installation and run command Setup.exe /Action=RunDiscovery. You will get same html report.
